You do the majority of the work, including Project Management and procurement. This is the most cost effective but takes more of your time. This is the route if you want to learn new skills.

Self-Managed or Professionally Managed

This route allows you to chose your sub-contractors and maybe even do some of the physical work yourself. You will organise the build schedule, contractors and materials. In essence you are acting like main contractor therefore saving money.

A professional project manager will work with you to make the decision and will be able to make saving, deal with contracts and keep you build on track.

Package or Kit Houses

There are several companies on the market who have homes that you buy “off the shelf”. It is their design and you will have some choices on final finishes.

Custom Build

THis is normally for larger development where you select how your home looks but selecting the options from a menu. This is a quick route to build with individual design. This way helps to customise terraced homes.
